Exploring Life Patterns with Tarot Cards
Tarot cards can be grouped into two types: those that represent personality symbols and those that represent soul symbols. The cards that represent personality symbols reflect your intelligence, talents, temperament, demeanor, and moods as they appear in the outer world—essentially, how others see you. The cards that represent soul symbols reveal your deeper self, including your inner desires, sources of energy, spiritual feelings, pursuits, and the ideal life you long for; they represent the true you that’s often hidden from others.
From the moment you are born, your life begins to engage with the world, and both your personality and your soul accompany you. Discovering your personal Tarot cards (drawn from the 22 Major Arcana, or from the 25-card variant) can help you gain a deeper understanding of who you are and how others view you. Uncovering the hidden aspects of your personality and energy helps you get to know yourself, realize your potential and strengths, and gain clarity about the future, paving the way for a beautiful journey ahead.
The calculation method is as follows:
1. Add together the three parts of your birthdate (year + month + day) to get a total. Then add the digits of that total to reduce it to a two-digit number. Finally, add those two digits to get a single-digit number. The two-digit number represents the personality-symbol Tarot card, while the single-digit number represents the soul-symbol Tarot card.
2. If the total already reduces to a single digit, that number represents both the personality and the soul—often indicating a person with strong professional talents.
3. If the total equals 19, then 1 + 9 = 10 and 1 + 0 = 1. This is the only case that produces three numbers. In this case, the first number represents personality, the third number represents the soul, and the middle number represents creativity. Those who embody this creativity are exceptional creative talents.
4. If the total equals 22 (or 25 in the variant Tarot), treat 22 (or 25) as 0 because the traditional Major Arcana are numbered 0–21; thus, 0 represents personality. The sum of the digits of the total gives the soul number (for 22, 2 + 2 = 4; for 25, 2 + 5 = 7).
5. If the total exceeds 22 (or 25 in the variant Tarot), subtract 22 (or 25) from it; the remainder represents personality, and adding the digits of that remainder gives the soul.
Life patterns corresponding to Tarot card numbers:
1. If your calculated personality and soul numbers are the same, it indicates a single-track life path; if they are different, it suggests a multi-track development.
2. If your number is 0, it signifies that you seek a colorful, dynamic life.
3. If your number is between 1 and 6, it indicates that you pursue a harmonious life.
4. If your number is between 7 and 12, it suggests that you seek a life filled with adventure and challenges.
5. If your number is between 13 and 18, it represents a pursuit of continual innovation and change.
6. If your number is between 19 and 21, it signifies a pursuit of self-actualization and achievement.
