Liu Heng's Interpretation of Facial Features: "Pointed Chin with Little Flesh, Family Wealth Diminishes

The world is complex, and the line between good and evil is often blurred. In our interactions, we encounter three types of beneficial friends: the straightforward friend, the trustworthy friend, and the knowledgeable friend, as well as three types of harmful friends: the flatterer, the deceitful friend, and the sycophant. A gentleman's greatest virtue is kindness to others. However, if we blindly do good, it turns into foolish kindness. We must strive for wise kindness. The saying "Calculating every mistake with care, reflecting on every matter is difficult" highlights the deceptive nature of humanity, which we must be wary of. Teacher Liu Heng advises that when dealing with insincere individuals, we should either stick to our principles or maintain a distance, echoing Confucius's teaching: "repay virtue with virtue and resentment with integrity." We should uphold loyalty and forgiveness, being upright, just, and respectful.
A pointed chin signifies changing fortune
Note by Liu Heng: The chin refers to the lower part of the face, including the cheekbones and jaw. A pointed chin indicates tapering cheekbones, creating a triangular appearance, often described as having "no flesh on the cheeks." Folk wisdom suggests that those with "no flesh on the cheeks and a bent back" are untrustworthy and lack resilience; they can enjoy good fortune but cannot withstand adversity. In difficult times, they tend to waver, serving different masters. While they might seem loyal in prosperous times, they turn away in hardship. A man with a pointed chin may see his family legacy diminish, as reliance on wealth alone is futile for sustaining fate.
A slanted forehead and thin lips suggest a lack of depth
Note by Liu Heng: A slanted forehead is defined by a narrow and pointed shape with a low hairline, likened to the width of a single finger. This reflects insatiable greed, leading to inevitable poverty. A person who frequently casts sidelong glances harbors ulterior motives and malintent, leading to severe consequences. Constant fidgeting when seated or lying down indicates excessive liver yang, signaling a lack of resolve and a life filled with misfortune. A large mouth with thin lips indicates a propensity for gossip, poor discernment between good and evil, and intolerance, resulting in poverty and isolation from family. A protruding jaw and deeply set chin demonstrate a lack of ambition and foresight, often seeking hasty rewards, leading to downfall. A mouth resembling a fire-blowing shape with outward-leaning teeth and lips suggests a lack of integrity, a tendency towards betrayal for personal gain, and a temporary rise inevitably followed by a fall.
Thick eyebrows and thin eyebrows, a wide mouth with uneven height
Note by Liu Heng: Thick eyebrows overshadowing the eyes, paired with lifeless eyes, denote a timid and dependent individual who cannot stand independently. A large mouth with thin lips shows a lack of tolerance and integrity, causing family estrangement. A narrow mouth with thin lips and a small chin indicates a life of solitude, as self-centeredness undermines familial ties, leading to loneliness and poverty in old age.
A nose pointing upwards signifies a lack of wealth
Note by Liu Heng: A nose with flared nostrils, a short red bridge, and a pointed tip suggests indecisiveness and an inability to discern between good and evil, resulting in a life fraught with instability and poverty.
A sunken warehouse leads to hunger
Note by Liu Heng: The "heavenly warehouse" refers to the forehead, eyes, and cheekbones, while the "earthly storehouse" denotes the jaw, chin, and nose. The heavenly warehouse is linked to future prospects, while the earthly storehouse pertains to morality. People with pointed cheekbones and small mouths are deemed untrustworthy and lack integrity, leading to a scarcity of friends and a precarious existence, ultimately resulting in poverty.
Thick eyebrows and small eyes indicate limited fortune; thin eyebrows and large eyes often lead to poverty
Note by Liu Heng: Thick eyebrows overshadowing small eyes suggest a naturally timid person who lacks decisiveness and responsibility, leading to a life with limited fortune. Conversely, individuals with large, protruding eyes and thin, short eyebrows tend to be reckless, disloyal, and driven by greed and desire, resulting in a life of low status.
High eyebrows and deep-set eyes indicate a ruthless nature, especially if red veins pierce the pupils
Note by Liu Heng: High brow bones signal a bold and arrogant nature, while deep-set eyes suggest someone with deep schemes. If red veins pierce the pupils, such individuals are likely to be ruthless and merciless, committing heinous acts without remorse and prioritizing profit above ethics, leading to moral blindness.
