Can You Tell Your Baby’s Gender from Their Facial Features?
People often ask whether it's possible to determine a baby's gender using physiognomy. According to this tradition, the answer is yes. However, many current fate analysis articles focus on the facial features of pregnant women, which is essentially hindsight. After conception, the baby's gender is already set; at that point you're simply predicting whether it will be a boy or a girl. But can we make an assessment before conception? Dr. Zheng explains:
A baby's gender involves both parents, so physiognomy should consider both men and women. The basic principle of physiognomy is that "the face reflects the heart," and, by extension, some say "the face determines gender." Here are some aspects to consider when predicting whether a baby will be a boy or a girl:
1. For men, focus on the eyebrows
This is because "essence is hidden in the bones, and revealed in the eyebrows." Men with thick, dark, long, lustrous eyebrows are believed to be energetic and resilient, with a probability of having a boy exceeding sixty percent. If body hair overall is as "sturdy" as the eyebrows, the probability is said to rise to eighty to ninety percent, as "when the kidneys are weak, hair falls out; when the kidneys are strong, hair grows."
2. For women, focus on the mouth
In physiognomy, a woman's upper lip is said to be governed by the Large Intestine meridian, which is related to reproductive functions; the center of the upper lip can indicate bladder function and emotional expression. Women with a pronounced cupid's bow are believed to be more emotionally centered and to have stronger bladder function. The area between the nasolabial folds and the inner edges of the nostrils is considered an indicator of the strength of the reproductive organs and sexual vitality. If a woman's lips appear dark, pale, or overly bright, she is said to be more likely to have a girl; if her lip color is rosy, the probability of having a boy is thought to be higher.
However, if the conclusions drawn from the physiognomy of the man and woman are exactly opposite, there is a yin–yang theory in fate analysis that can serve as a guide. According to this theory, both partners need to be calm and composed. Specifically:
- If a man's hair indicates a boy, but a woman's lips indicate a girl, then they will have a girl;
- Conversely, if a man's hair indicates a girl and a woman's features indicate a boy, they will also have a girl.
- Only when both partners show signs of having a boy can they "correctly produce a boy"; otherwise, it will be "positive and negative yield negative" or "negative and negative yield negative."
- Additionally, features like eyebrows and lips can change over time and with the environment (home and office), making it a matter of timing.
- Before attempting to conceive, adjusting the feng shui of the home and focusing on health can help both partners exhibit good vitality, which typically manifests within a seasonal cycle.
