Facial Features That May Indicate a Higher Likelihood of Becoming a Widow

Traditionally, a widow is a woman whose husband has died, or one who lives alone. If a husband dies at thirty and his wife lives to eighty, that leaves her with a very long widowhood. Some choose to remarry, while others remain single; only they truly know what that journey is like. There is no absolute rule that determines whether a woman will be widowed, but women with the following facial features are said to be more likely to spend their later years alone.
1. A Particularly Broad Forehead
A woman with a broad, square forehead—even broader than a man's—is often very intelligent and capable, able to manage things well without relying on a man. However, such women are said to have husbands whose talents end up suppressed for long periods, and history even records cases of husbands killing their wives out of jealousy. Many women may feel indignant about this, but the belief is that when a woman's social competitiveness surpasses a man's, the family tends to suffer.
2. A Large but Lean Nose
A woman whose nose is large relative to her other features—but thin at the tip and nostrils, and marked by dark lines or bumps—is said to have unfavorable facial traits. Many mistakenly believe that women with larger noses have better husbands. In this view, a large nose does not promise a good marriage; rather, it can signal pride and arrogance, making it difficult for her to get along with others.
3. Prominent Cheekbones
Women with high, sharp cheekbones tend to dominate in many areas, insisting everything meet their standards. Hence the saying, "High cheekbones—no need for a knife to kill a husband."
4. Short Lower Face
Women with a pointed or receding chin are generally thought to face poorer fortunes in their later years. Many people pay little attention to their fate in old age, but that period often reflects the sum of one's life. Those who do well later in life usually show the results of having lived wisely. A short lower face—the area from the nose to the chin—can lead to regret in old age if one does not learn to be prudent and accumulate blessings in youth.
5. A Wide Face
Women with a broad face and no flesh under the jaw—often referred to as having a "persimmon face"—tend to be domineering and harsh, with a cruel disposition. Women with sunken cheeks and dark, wrinkled skin are considered even more likely to be lonely and destitute.
These so-called widow traits are not formed overnight, nor can they be easily changed in a short time. It is also unwise to rely on external methods to alter them. No one wishes to become a widow, but everyone has roles to play in life. After recognizing one's role, it is essential to continually reflect on one's shortcomings, improve one's conduct, and accumulate good fortune, which may change one's destiny.
