Time Travel: UK Streets with 'Time Rifts'
Legend has it that Bold Street in the UK is known for its peculiar "time slip" phenomenon, where individuals accidentally find themselves wandering into streets from decades past. People here have reported witnessing sights, events, and objects from those bygone eras, experiencing what can only be described as a supernatural form of "time travel."
The Street with a "Time Slip"
According to the Daily Star, numerous locations in the UK have been noted for "time travel" experiences, with Bold Street in Liverpool standing out as the most renowned. Some theorists propose that the Liverpool subway, which runs in concentric circles underground, might be responsible for creating these time slips, resulting in such extraordinary occurrences.
One student recounted an experience of seeing horse-drawn carriages and the streets morphing into those lined with old-fashioned shops, populated by pedestrians donned in Victorian attire. Initially thinking it might be a television show shoot, the student was stunned when a glance back revealed the street had returned to its usual appearance, as if nothing had happened.
The "Time Traveling" Policeman
An account from the Liverpool Echo detailed an interview with Tom Slemen, an expert on supernatural phenomena, who shared a specific time travel incident on Bold Street.
This event occurred on a Saturday in July 1996, during a vacation for a policeman named Frank. He and his wife, Carol, went shopping in Liverpool. Upon arriving, they parted ways at the central station to explore different shops: Frank intended to visit a record store on Lark Lane for CDs, while Carol set off for a bookstore on Bold Street.
After completing his errands, Frank headed to meet Carol at the bookstore on Bold Street. On his way, he stumbled into an oddly silent "zone," where he was nearly hit by a small truck that appeared to be straight out of the 1950s. Startled but unharmed, Frank continued on his way, only to find the bookstore had morphed into a shop named "Kreeps," selling women’s handbags and shoes.
Realizing something was off, Frank noticed that all the pedestrians were wearing fashions from the 1940s and 1950s. It seemed as though he had somehow wandered into Bold Street as it was 40 years earlier.
While feeling disoriented, Frank spotted a young woman, around 20 years old, dressed in 1990s style and carrying a backpack from a British clothing chain. Her presence reassured him, suggesting he was still in 1996.
Following her like a lifeline, Frank tailed the girl, hoping she might unknowingly lead him back to his own time. She entered Kreeps, and he followed her inside. Stepping into the store, he was not met by handbags and shoes, but rather the familiar bookstore, signifying his successful return to the present.
Later, Frank asked the girl if she also saw Kreeps. She responded, "Yes. I thought it was a new store and wanted to check out the clothes, but it was actually a bookstore inside." When Frank reunited with Carol and recounted the peculiar episode, she mentioned nothing seemed unusual to her. Nonetheless, Frank was convinced that what he had experienced was not a mere illusion; it was indeed a time travel phenomenon.
