The Belt of Venus

The Venus line (also called the Girdle of Venus) lies above the heart line. It typically begins between the index and middle fingers and arcs toward the space near the little finger. In some hands it is as clear and deep as the major palm lines; in many, it is faint and shows few, if any, side branches. Although the Venus line is not as influential as the major lines of fate, it should be read together with the heart line and the Mount of Venus when interpreting matters of love and relationships.

• The ideal Venus line starts between the index and middle fingers and extends to the space between the ring and little fingers. When the Mount of Venus is overly prominent, people with this line may lean toward indulgence and hedonism; when the Mount is well-developed but balanced, it points to high character, courage, and sound judgment.
• The Venus line is generally considered a favorable sign. However, if the heart line is weak or poorly formed, a person may face setbacks in relationships and be easily tempted. In traditional readings, this can signal—especially for women—heightened sensitivity and emotional volatility.
• If the Venus line crosses the marriage line, it suggests possible separation between spouses or involvement in others’ relationships. If the headline (line of intelligence) is also weak, it indicates poor control over desire and a susceptibility to deception.
• People with multiple, overlapping Venus lines may be inclined toward serial affairs and may experience failures due to emotional entanglements. They are emotionally intense and may often be preoccupied with sexual thoughts.
• When the Venus line is formed by intermittent short segments, it can point to irregularities in sexual matters, frequent flirtations, and romantic complications. Traditional interpretations say that, for women, this reflects strong sensitivity and nervous tension. Regardless of gender, it suggests a higher likelihood of conflicts around intimacy.
• If the Venus line is broken and the heart line has weak side branches, it suggests acting on impulse in sexual matters and a tendency toward self-indulgent behavior.
• Those with island markings on the Venus line tend to be passionate and generous, and their thinking is often guided by emotion. If the headline is strong, they are well-suited for careers that call for passionate commitment.
