Facial Analysis: Why You Face Repeated Setbacks
Life is varied, and people at different social levels choose their own ways of living. The wealthy have their worries and the poor have their hardships; how fortunate someone is isn’t defined solely by material wealth.
So where do these hardships come from? In essence, we often “add to our own troubles.” The difference between those who do this easily and those who don’t comes down to wisdom. Some people can examine and resolve their difficulties through reflection, while others get entangled and restless on life’s journey. As a result, some enjoy decades of smooth sailing, while others experience uneven fortunes, with some years good and others not.
This difference shows up in both life and conduct. From a physiognomic perspective, it’s said to be visible in whether the space between the eyebrows and the root of the nose is open or blocked. Life will inevitably present obstacles, difficulties, and turmoil. When facing them, if your energy stays strong and your motivation and routines remain intact, even in bad times the impact will be limited. This requires a clear understanding of life and action, so you don’t fall into confusion and uncertainty; that is the mark of wisdom.
The main source of disorder in our lives and actions comes less from external forces than from our own psychology. Negativity, complacency, or simply going with the flow may not cause immediate problems, but after a few months or half a year, your judgment, motivation, and outlook will shift. These shifts will surface when luck turns—some in early midlife, others later on. A real-world analogy: when you’re in a good company, your work and life may seem fine, but if you grow complacent and arrogant and stop making an effort, you’ll eventually be let go. Before that, you may still appear to be doing well; once you’re dismissed, you immediately run into difficulties—essentially, you’ve entered a downturn.
Your ability to adapt in life is shaped by whether you add to your own troubles. External forces can’t truly do this to you; they can’t dominate your inner thoughts. However, outside people and environments can influence you and trigger you to burden yourself. Understand this principle, and you’ll know how to adjust.
When different people face the same situation, whether they add to their own troubles largely determines how smooth their future will be.
