Palmistry: What the Child Lines on Your Palm May Reveal About Fertility

The children line—also known as the fertility line—runs vertically from the base of the little finger to meet the marriage line. As with the career line, some people have a children line while others do not; its absence doesn’t necessarily mean anything negative. For men, a clear children line is said to indicate healthy children. If the line is faint or disrupted by other markings, it may suggest children who are more prone to illness. For women, viewing the children line together with the arterial lines on the palm is thought to offer clues about how many children they may have (based on how clear and upright the lines are), as well as their children’s health and appearance. Generally speaking:
- Read the children lines from bottom to top; the number of lines is said to indicate the number of children.
- A deep, broad children line suggests a higher likelihood of a son.
- A thin, shallow children line points to a daughter.
- A distinct fork at the end of the children line suggests the possibility of twins.
- A very shallow or short children line may indicate a higher risk of pregnancy loss, including miscarriage or stillbirth.
- A curved or irregular children line suggests children who may be frail and prone to illness from an early age.
- Additionally, if island patterns appear at the beginning of the children line, it indicates children who may be weak and frequently ill in their early years; if island patterns appear at the end of the line, it suggests difficulties in raising the children to adulthood.
Due to the implementation of family planning policies in our country, using the number of lines to predict the number of children is no longer reliable, so interpret the children line with caution. (This content is for entertainment purposes only.)
