There's a term, "visible veins," which refers to prominent veins appearing on the face when someone is angry or anxious. This stems from temporarily impeded venous blood flow and is generally normal. However, if veins show while we're laughing and chatting, that's cause for concern.
In physiognomy, the face is divided into twelve sections, commonly called the twelve palaces, each tied to a different relationship in life. Visible veins are said to reflect excessive buildup of waste in the body. When that "cause" is present, negative "effects" are more likely to follow. The location of these veins is used to anticipate life events.
Official Palace: For people in mid-level management and above, veins here often point to heavy work pressure, leading to irritability and scolding subordinates.
Fortune Palace: Moderation and caring for others are blessings. If veins appear here, they may indicate jealousy or resentment toward others, stirring vengeful thoughts and nighttime insomnia.
Migration Palace: If you notice veins here before a trip, double-check your travel documents. If they appear during the trip, it often stems from meddling in others' affairs, leading to unpleasant experiences. If they show after returning home, it signals disappointment with the trip.
Marriage Palace: Veins on either side suggest worry about your partner. If they appear on a rainy day, it may reflect concern over unusual behavior; in this system, veins correspond to wood, and rain (water) nourishes wood, which symbolizes romance.
Parents Palace: This refers not only to parents but also to ancestors. Veins here suggest you haven't been paying enough attention to your elders lately.
Siblings Palace: This includes friends, colleagues, and partners. If veins appear on one side, it may point to money disputes among siblings. If they appear on both sides, legal conflicts could follow.
Illness Palace: Most notably, when children under seven have veins crossing the bridge of the nose, it can indicate respiratory or digestive issues and difficulty concentrating at school. For adults, if such veins persist for three days, it may signal a serious illness approaching.
Property Palace: Veins here may point to leaks in household plumbing or bathrooms. If they persist for several days, avoid buying secondhand property—you could inadvertently purchase a haunted house.
Life Palace: This is the most representative area in physiognomy, reflecting the inner world of emotions and desires. Veins here tend to coincide with anxiety, with nightmares being the most common outcome.
Children Palace: For young women in relationships, the chance of pregnancy increases, while men may find themselves unprepared for fatherhood. Married individuals may worry about their children. If elders have veins here, prioritize harmony and avoid conflicts with descendants.
Wealth Palace: People with fleshier noses who see veins here may lose money due to kindness, such as lending to friends who don't repay. Those with thinner noses may lose money through negligence, like misplacing wallets or important documents.
Servants Palace: Two common scenarios: first, arguments with subordinates (if the Official Palace also shows veins, it may lead to unjustly firing employees); second, after age sixty, men may be prone to prostate issues, and women should be cautious about uterine problems.
Overall, visible facial veins are viewed as an outward sign of accumulated internal "waste"—phlegm, dampness, stagnation, heat, and toxins. With mindful eating and a balanced mindset, you can typically return to normal quickly.
