Greed and Evil Will Bring Disaster to Future Generations

There's a saying that a person's misfortune shouldn't fall on their spouse and children. Yet in astrology, it's said that when someone does evil and is excessively greedy, they will inevitably bring disaster upon their descendants.

Let me share two real-life examples I witnessed. Six months ago, some friends and I went to release fish back into the river. Walking along the riverside, we passed a restaurant that kept live fish. Feeling compassionate, we decided to buy nearly ten of them. As you might expect, the owners weren’t willing to sell them cheaply. We even offered to pay the menu price—essentially ordering the dishes without having them cooked—so we could take the fish away alive. But the owners, a husband-and-wife team, flatly refused to sell at any price.

In that moment, I took a look at the couple's facial features. They seemed to be around sixty, especially the woman, whose lips had a bluish cast and whose eye corners were dark. When she spoke, her expression was fierce, as if ready to fight over anything. To me, these signs suggested misfortune would soon befall their family—within two months, judging by their complexion. Sure enough, about six weeks later, I heard their son had a car accident after a night of drinking. You can choose not to do good, but you must never do evil. Nurturing malicious thoughts and denying even a fish a chance at life invites long-lasting misfortune.

In another case, a friend told me about a shop next to a temple that sold good incense. One day, we went to buy some. As we walked in, a friendly woman in her thirties greeted us, but her appearance startled me. Beneath her eyes, around the tear troughs, were tiny grayish-white specks—like scattered mold on spoiled food. When I mentioned this to my friend, she confirmed that the woman had issues in that area and that her son was either disabled or plagued by many illnesses. My friend said the woman had been chasing money for years and likely dabbled in darker practices, often charging high prices for fortune-telling. Three years ago, her child developed a strange illness, and they spent a great deal on treatment to no avail.

Don't think there's no immediate retribution in this world. Harboring evil thoughts throughout life sows misfortune and drives blessings away, while a single compassionate thought plants the seeds of good fortune and keeps calamity at bay.
