Facial Features: Are You About to Experience Good Luck?
When calculating BaZi or examining Feng Shui, people—regardless of gender—come with all kinds of circumstances, mindsets, and goals. One thing is universal: everyone asks, when will good luck arrive? When will there be opportunities to make money? When will there be a chance for marriage? When will there be promotions and raises? And so on. After all, who doesn’t wish for a smooth, happy life blessed with good fortune?
Many people say that before something bad happens, there are often signs—for example, an eye twitching; a family member having a nightmare before an accident; or a toothbrush slipping to the floor in the morning. Are these signs 100% accurate? Of course not; nothing in this world is guaranteed. But they can be quite reliable, distilled from many people’s life experiences. If misfortune can be preceded by signs, then could good fortune be as well? Experience tells us yes. From a physiognomy perspective, the following changes often indicate that good luck is on the way—or has already arrived.
1. Hair suddenly becomes darker and shinier
Never underestimate the significance of hair. If you’ve read my earlier articles, you know that in physiognomy, changes in hair are often the quickest, most direct, and most telling indicators. If your hair suddenly becomes darker and shinier, it suggests your vitality has shifted from weak to strong; in traditional Chinese medicine terms, your qi and blood are abundant. With sufficient qi and blood, your spirit naturally thrives. I often emphasize that a strong spirit brings good luck. That’s why people who are wealthy or fortunate tend to look radiant and full of life, never dull or lifeless. If your hair has noticeably improved over the past year or so—turning dark and glossy—it’s a sign that good things are on the way.
2. Eyes become bright and spirited
Some may think this sounds subjective—you see bright eyes, while others may not. But there is a standard: a clear contrast between the whites and the irises, and a lively, animated gaze. This reflects strong energy and vitality. When energy is good, you perceive and handle things clearly, with a focused mind, which is only natural. So if your eyes have gone from dull to vibrant—and this isn’t due to artificial enhancement—it also suggests that good luck is approaching.
3. Nostrils suddenly thicken
Some may be surprised and ask, aren’t nostrils fixed? They can change. Facial features do evolve over time; that’s a fact. Sometimes the changes are so subtle you barely notice them. Some people have ordinary noses when they’re struggling financially, but once they become prosperous, their noses look straighter. In some cases, the nostrils even appear to thicken. This often signals that a person is about to enter a period of abundant wealth. It may also suggest they will marry a capable partner.
4. Ears
When good luck is on the way, the ears can change as well. Ears are traditionally linked to the kidneys; when luck is poor, they often appear dull or yellowish, indicating low energy and susceptibility to fatigue. When fortune turns, the ears may take on a red or rosy hue. This suggests the person is experiencing favorable luck: things go smoothly and energy feels boundless. Even with only a few hours of sleep, one can still feel spirited.
5. Nails
When luck is poor, many people’s nails look pale; I once saw someone whose nails were almost snow-white, with hardly any color. His energy was indeed lacking—on a mountain climb, he had far less stamina than women his age—clearly suggesting his luck wasn’t good. If, in a certain year, such nails suddenly become healthy and vibrant, that also indicates good fortune is on the way.
Ultimately, it all comes down to vitality. When vitality is sufficient, the spirit is strong, and a strong spirit invites good luck—this is a reliable truth. So if I can’t immediately answer whether good fortune is coming, first check whether there have been noticeable changes in these areas over the past year or so. If there have, congratulations! You can be confident that good fortune is on the horizon and many happy events are waiting for you. Keep working hard, especially if you feel your luck hasn’t been great; the more you feel this way, the more it suggests your luck is building—and it’s definitely on the rise.
