Facial Features and the Karmic Consequences of Good and Evil

Good is rewarded and evil is punished; retribution is not absent, only sometimes delayed. Our actions spring from the heart, and so do their moral qualities. Many people today dismiss the idea of karmic return because they fixate on their own small good deeds, expecting instant rewards, while obsessing over others’ faults in hopes of seeing them punished to soothe their own sense of imbalance. When reality doesn’t match these expectations, frustration sets in and they conclude that virtue and vice go unrewarded.

Everything unfolds by degree. In each of us, greed coexists with conscience. The point is to curb harmful thoughts and nurture benevolent ones as situations arise, without overcalculating personal gain. Only when the balance of good or evil reaches a certain threshold does it show itself—often, it is said, in one’s physiognomy.

Those who sincerely repent over time and accumulate good deeds will be blessed, regardless of their looks. Signs of virtue first appear around the eyes and then extend to the nose, ears, and mouth. Bright, smooth skin around the eyes, with a healthy glow and fine, even lines, suggests ample merit and foretells prosperity and longevity for one’s descendants. A luminous, well-energized area between the brows and across the forehead points to wealth and good fortune earned through benevolence and righteousness. Pale, clear ears are auspicious and signal good news, reflecting ancestral virtue and family flourishing. People destined for favorable returns tend to project a subtle, radiant presence, with lively, vigorous energy in the eyes as a basic indicator.

Evil often springs from greed. Some people take a small good deed as great merit while treating their many harmful thoughts as normal. As guilt gnaws at them, they try to ease it by burning a few sticks of incense. But without true repentance—or if one repents yet persists in the same behavior—no amount of incense will help. It is like asking for protection while continuing to harm others; no one can save you.

Signs of impending negative retribution include a noxious look in the eyes, whether overt or concealed. Dusky tones gather around the eyes and the bridge of the nose, especially in those consumed by greed and lust. Darkness at the outer eye corners, with broken lines and blemishes, points to family decline. Loose skin, sunken eyes, and dark circles can foreshadow ill consequences for one’s descendants. Indicators such as web-like facial patterns; checkerboard textures; tear lines under the eyes; feathered lines at the eye corners; needle-fine lines between the brows; breaks at the root of the nose; redness at the nose tip; intersecting lines on the forehead; split lines at the mouth corners; slanted lines at the outer eyes; and serpentine markings all suggest seeds of wrongdoing. If these patterns look chaotic and indistinct, frequent health and family troubles are likely within six months. A bluish cast to the complexion with wrinkled skin is a sign that retribution has already begun.

Vertical lines around the mouth are said to mark a lonely, isolated life; such people are described as lowly and unsettled in spirit. Indulging in wrongdoing and unchecked greed leads to self-ruin; even if major calamities are avoided, lifelong poverty follows. A pointed jaw, small thin ears, uneven vitality, and darkness in the four storage areas portend trouble and collapse within half a month—inevitable regardless of status or power. A gaunt face, uneven brows, unkempt facial hair, and a crooked nose suggest compromised integrity; once exposed, this brings financial loss and a shortened lifespan.

The shift from thought to deed determines how good and evil take shape. If a stray harmful thought arises but one behaves properly, a simple change in perspective can set things right. But if one harbors good intentions while acting immorally, only sustained repentance and reform will suffice. Otherwise, once negative signs appear again and again, retribution will not be far behind.
