Discover How Your Birth Chart Reveals Everyone in Your Life, Including Soulmates

We all know that our zodiac signs and natal charts have houses, and most of us understand the meanings of these individual houses. (If you're unsure, you can click here to view your zodiac chart and get detailed interpretations of the 12 houses.) We often connect the planets to their meanings within these houses, but did you know there's another intriguing way to interpret them? You can match every person in your life to a specific house. Isn't that fascinating?

Some of you might wonder, "What difference does it make?" Here's the answer: "You can see how people influence your life based on their corresponding houses," allowing you to truly understand how your zodiac chart functions.

A client once wrote to me, saying, "You always say the houses in my zodiac chart reveal the roles people play in my life. But honestly, I don't get it because the houses haven't spoken to me. Here are a few things I'd like to know:"

"Who should I focus on more closely?"

"Is my boss intentionally giving me a hard time?"

"Who will be so upset with me that they won't speak to me again?"

"Who can I no longer rely on for support?"

"Who will hit a low point, needing my help to recover?"

"Who is going to fade out of my life?"

"Who will step up and turn things around?"

"Where will I find my soulmate? I really want to know!!"

Let me tell you, I don’t have clear answers about soulmates. My Neptune isn't in Libra, nor is there any significant aspect. But I can certainly help identify who the key figures in each house of your zodiac chart might be. This knowledge might help you figure out who these questions pertain to in your present life. With this insight, you can discern who might pose a threat and who you can count on for support. Today, we’ll explore the characters represented by each of the 12 houses.

Who are the people hidden in the 12 houses?

I’ll kick off with the traditional interpretations from astrology and expand them to incorporate new elements introduced by modern life, global travel, and instant communication. Who, for instance, do you think your computer repair person represents? Do you know which houses your stepchild or partner's ex-spouse belong to?

You might think, "Obviously, they don't fit into my houses."

Well, according to the derived house method, you can answer these queries by rotating your zodiac chart. For stepchildren, start at the seventh house and count four houses forward, reaching your tenth house. Personally, I find this method dizzying, but I've incorporated more everyday relationships in the house list below.

These are the people either in your natal chart or related to your current situation, potentially answering your questions or posing new ones.

First House

  • You—the version of yourself that you present to the world.
  • It might also include those who help you maintain your appearance.
  • This could be your hairstylist, personal trainer, dental hygienist, or cosmetic surgeon.

Tips: A nutritionist helping you lose weight for health reasons would belong to the sixth house.

Second House

  • Those who provide your income directly, like the payroll department at work.
  • If you run your own business, this includes customers, clients, salespeople, and accounts receivable.
  • Those you pay—suppliers, payees, dependents, and accounts payable.

Tips: Financial advisors belong in the eighth house, while your boss's customers are in the sixth house.

Third House

  • Siblings, uncles, aunts, cousins,
  • Close family friends, neighbors, classmates,
  • People you communicate with over the phone.
  • Online connections, such as forum members and tech support.
  • Media figures like journalists, bloggers, and news anchors.

Fourth House

  • Parents, parental figures, housemates, ancestors, older relatives, and people from your hometown.
  • Home service providers such as interior designers, contractors, plumbers, landscapers.

Fifth House

  • Your children and other young individuals in your life.
  • Your inner child.
  • Lovers who view you as a maternal or paternal figure.
  • Romantic interests and celebrities you admire.
  • Those who share your creative interests or hobbies.
  • Pets who share your life.

Tips: Animals raised for food, milk, or riding belong in the sixth house.

Sixth House

  • Co-workers and employees
  • Health professionals including mainstream and alternative practitioners
  • I guess your computer repair person fits here, too
  • Job recruiters
  • Business consultants who apply here.

Seventh House

  • Your spouse, life partner, or business partner.
  • Strong, loyal relationships like lifelong best friends.
  • Agents, consultants, life coaches, advisors, or co-authors.
  • Public adversaries—well-matched rivals.

Eighth House

  • Sexual partners and gynecologists.
  • Joint property and resource partners like spouses or business associates.
  • Supporting sources such as investors, trustees, social security, or grant providers.
  • Your accountant or investment advisor.
  • The influence of deceased individuals.
  • People who include you in their wills or use it for leverage.
  • Family members who loan you money and then pursue repayment.
  • Bankers, credit card company staff, collections, or IRS agents. Insurance reps too.

Tips: Now you know why the eighth house can be daunting to astrologers! Even without the eighth house, life goes on.

Ninth House

  • Professors and significant teachers.
  • Religious figures, spiritual mentors, motivational speakers, inspirational authors.
  • Lawyers and judges.
  • Publishers and editors.
  • Connections from abroad and travel agents.

Tips: Through derived houses: grandchildren, your spouse's siblings.

Tenth House

  • Authoritative parents, career advisors, bosses, supervisors.
  • You when you become a parent or boss.
  • Authorities like elected officials, board members, and police.

Tips: Through derived houses: stepparents, your spouse’s parents, stepchildren, or your spouse's boss. Basically, everyone but you is in charge here!

Eleventh House

  • Friends and partners, your social and peer circles.
  • Respected colleagues.
  • Team and organization members you associate with.

Twelfth House

  • Secret people in your life, such as affairs.
  • Hidden adversaries, those with potential harm
  • Including yourself, as we can sometimes be our own worst enemies.
  • Those in long-term care settings like hospitals, nursing homes, shelters, and prisons, along with their staff.
  • Selfless service providers like nuns, monks, and volunteer workers.

Now, can you identify where the people in your life fall within your chart?

Applying this article to your life can give you clearer insight into the roles people play in your current life drama. You'll better understand if they're the villains causing you endless trouble or the heroes there to save the day.

It’s time to start creating this movie—a one-person show where you're the casting director, deciding who fits into your life and the importance of their roles. You’re also the screenwriter, able to edit scenes and reshape the ending within limits to avoid the worst outcomes.

As the producer, you understand the financial potential of this project, whether it's a billion-dollar blockbuster or a low-budget indie film. Simultaneously, you're the main actor, preparing to perform all your stunts. Are you ready to do them all yourself, or will you use a stunt double for the risky scenes?

Playing all these parts, you might as well step up as the director, ensuring everything aligns with your vision. As they say in the entertainment industry, break a leg!
