Beyond just the shape of the palm, the softness and thickness also carry significant importance.

There are two ways to assess the softness or hardness of the palm. The first method involves pinching the base of the four fingers, excluding the thumb. If the area noticeably deforms, it suggests softness; if not, it indicates hardness.

The second method is to press your fingers vertically against a table. If your fingers can’t bend forward, it suggests a hard hand. People with hard hands often exhibit stubbornness and inflexibility. Conversely, a very soft palm may indicate a lack of persistence and an unsteady approach. Generally, if the second knuckle can touch the table, it suggests a balanced hand—neither too soft nor too hard—which reflects adaptability while maintaining firmness, an ideal combination.

Softness and Hardness of the Hand

Individuals with soft palms may tend to be lazy and suffer from poor health, but they are often fortunate and intelligent. In contrast, those with hard palms typically enjoy good health and are diligent, though they might lack intellectual prowess.

People with straight fingers usually have better self-control and are more inclined to stay on a virtuous path, while those with bent fingers and soft palms might be more prone to deviate. A bent middle finger often signifies weak emotional control.

A thick palm indicates strong survival skills in challenging environments, providing resilience in adverse conditions. Primitive palm shapes tend to be thicker, whereas pointed shapes are generally thinner.

Individuals with thin palms are typically more skilled in intellectual pursuits, while those with thicker palms often excel in physical strength:

Size and shape also play a role, in addition to thickness and softness. Generally, smaller individuals have smaller palms, while larger individuals have larger palms, which is typical. However, some small individuals may have disproportionately large palms or feet, which is often seen as a sign of a challenging life. In contrast, larger individuals with smaller palms may find it easier to achieve success with less effort, which is considered advantageous.

Now, onto the thickness of the palm. Ideally, the thickness should correspond to the individual's body size. A heavier person with thin palms is viewed unfavorably, as this makes it difficult to accumulate wealth. Conversely, a thinner person with thick palms is perceived more positively, as they, too, tend to succeed with less effort.
