Understanding the Hanging Line in Palmistry: Do You Have It?

The hand has countless variations, reflecting a multitude of changes.

On our palms, we often find various intriguing patterns. Through the ages, palmistry enthusiasts have discovered a particular line linked to an individual's life and death, referred to as the "hanging line."

As depicted in the image, the "hanging line" is located between the heart line and the head line, on the career line of a person's palm, forming a pattern resembling the Chinese character "丰" (feng).

This region generally corresponds to the age between thirty-five and fifty, a time when many people experience substantial stress due to responsibilities like caring for aging parents and raising young children. It's known as the labor palace, associated with the heart. Lines passing through this area indicate excessive stress, potentially resulting from factors such as emotional conflicts, poor interpersonal relationships, dissatisfaction with life, disappointing exam outcomes, or unfavorable feng shui at home. These stresses can cause psychological disturbances, potentially leading to extreme decisions. However, such lines are not strictly confined to this age range, nor does their presence definitively mean a person will contemplate suicide; rather, it suggests a possible inclination. This is especially significant if the head line is notably curved and negative symbols appear on the heart line, increasing the likelihood of suicidal thoughts.

Initially, we considered these associations as mere superstition, but further research revealed that this line frequently appears in individuals with depression. Historically, suicide methods were often straightforward, including hanging, jumping off cliffs, and drowning. In ancient times, preserving a complete body after death was considered important for descendants, leading to hanging being a preferred method to ensure bodily integrity. Most fortune tellers can identify the hand patterns of those who have committed suicide, especially those who have hanged themselves.

A person contemplating suicide typically undergoes a long period of deep reflection and emotional depression. This state of mind causes organ dysfunction, which manifests on the palms, creating a causal link that results in the "丰" character appearing between the head and life lines. Naturally, the size and depth of this line can vary, so during analysis, it is crucial to observe carefully and communicate the psychological state clearly to help the individual confront it mentally. If the "丰" line is not yet fully formed or is in the process of forming, it is important to encourage the person to adopt a more positive outlook and let go of burdens. Otherwise, if this condition continues, it can exacerbate depression, lead to mania, anxiety, and other neurological issues, ultimately steering down irreversible paths.

In our current reality, particularly with the onset of the Li Huo (Fire) luck cycle in 2024, many individuals may increasingly exhibit the "丰" line due to factors like societal pressure, work stress, and hesitancy about having children. This suggests a rising number of people experiencing poor mental health and depression.

During a palm reading session yesterday, I found that out of four people, two had the "丰" line, both facing marital challenges and having already experienced two marriages. One mentioned being unhappy and considering a third marriage. As palm readers, our main duty is to speak with kindness and wisdom. I advised them that marriage is like shoes and feet; only the feet know if the shoes fit. However, a change in partner won't solve the problem as long as the pattern persists on your palm. It's crucial to address feelings of inadequacy and dissatisfaction internally. Without personal change, merely swapping partners will not help, and you may become more depressed and socially withdrawn. Ultimately, one of them left with tears but said they felt particularly uplifted, expressing, "Teacher, I feel so relieved!"

Therefore, when studying palmistry, we must focus on the human aspect. As the Li Huo luck cycle approaches, may everyone find liberation from sorrow, depression, and confusion, strive for self-improvement, nurture their inner selves, and rise like a phoenix, transcending limitations. This may be our best course of action!
