The center of the palm is called the "Mingtang" (bright hall). By closely observing the color of your palm, you can make a preliminary assessment of your recent fortune. In general, when good luck arrives, the color shows up in the palm first, then on the nose, and finally on the forehead, before spreading to the rest of the body. Ideally, the palm’s color should look vibrant; if it appears dull, it may indicate bad luck. Broadly speaking, palm colors can be grouped into the following five types:
- White spots — Suggests strong self-interest; driven by excessive desire, the person may have trouble holding onto money and suffer financial losses.
- Blue — Indicates potential disputes. If the blue tone also appears when the person is away from their usual post, it points to concerns about negligence.
- Black — Suggests impending misfortune or the possibility of serious illness.
- Red spots — An auspicious sign: good luck is on the way, and money will flow in. Congratulations!
- Dark yellow — If all five fingers appear yellow, it warns of a major household calamity within a hundred days, or that the person may face a serious illness.
