Palmistry: What the Marriage Line Reveals About Unlucky Love

When a couple’s love turns into resentment and ends in divorce, no matter who is at fault, it’s a psychological blow for both. Some people need two or three years to recover emotionally. But when a devoted spouse dies suddenly, leaving the other partner feeling utterly alone in grief, the sorrow is even deeper. The marriage line in palmistry can also reflect such situations.
If the end of the marriage line droops and intersects with the heart line (as shown in Figure A), it suggests the spouse may pass away due to illness or an accident. If there are no other problematic markings on the palm, it indicates these family changes are more likely to occur later in life.
If an “X” mark appears at the end of the marriage line (as shown in Figure B), it indicates that the spouse may die in an accident or disaster. An “X” on any line is generally considered an unfavorable sign.
If the marriage line is jagged (as shown in Figure C), it points to the loss of a spouse in middle age.
If the marriage line shows signs of widowhood, there should also be breaks on the heart line and fate line, and the Mount of Venus should display a “family disaster line” (as shown in Figure D) to confirm separation by death. Because losing a spouse is a major life event, the marriage line carries less weight than the three principal lines (heart line, head line, life line). It isn’t sound to judge major events from minor lines alone; always corroborate with the main lines for a reliable reading.
From a facial analysis perspective, the eyes can also reveal trends in love and marriage. A consistently melancholic gaze suggests someone is easily troubled by love and prone to marital discord. If the eyes appear moist, as if recently crying, the indication is even stronger, pointing to major separations—including by death—most likely in middle age.
