The Eight Major Palm Lines
1. The "virtuous wife and good mother" sign: When the heart line ends at or crosses the base joint of the index finger (a fairly common pattern), men with this marking are easily captivated by a woman's talent or beauty. They tend to be romantic and may even enjoy a strong, take-charge partner. If the head line (also called the wisdom line) is weak as well, they may defer to their wives or believe women should lead. Women with this marking tend to be affectionate, devoted partners.
2. Sign of multiple marriages: If the line running from the third joint of the little finger down to the heart line is evenly divided into three sections by two short connecting lines, and this appears on both hands, the person is likely to remarry. This marking can also be seen in couples who separate for many years and later reconcile, as well as in those who remarry after a previous marriage.
3. Signs of repeated setbacks: There are two main indicators. First, a broken or overly curved head (wisdom) line. Breaks or fragments suggest scattered thinking, unclear goals, excessive daydreaming, dissatisfaction with reality, and reluctance to work out solutions. This often comes with frequent, difficult headaches that radiate to the neck, shoulders, and upper back, making it hard to work. Second, an excessively weak head line that droops and tapers near the index finger. This points to someone who is very introverted, shy, reserved, and fearful—lacking confidence, afraid of criticism, and worried about offending others. Over time they shrink back, avoid risk, and focus on not making mistakes rather than striving for success.
4. Signs of accomplishing little: A severely weak life line combined with a fragmented head line indicates poor focus and comprehension. Such individuals are not proactive in study or work, seek pleasure, and indulge in excess; a weaker constitution saps their drive, leading to poor earnings. When fragments of the head line overlap to form a trapezoid, it suggests high aspirations but little patience. Overindulgence can invite trouble, resulting in health issues in middle age and frequent changes of partner.
5. Strong earning potential: If a branch of the head (wisdom) line points toward or reaches the base of the little finger—the Mercury mount—it indicates the person is influenced by Mercury and can earn substantial money in business and beyond. Even salaried workers may have income outside their paycheck, showing a nimble mind and a knack for spotting opportunities. However, if interference lines cut across the head line, their thinking may become blocked, leading to sudden obstacles or brief memory lapses.
6. Wealth lines: Fine diagonal lines on the ring finger and little finger are called wealth lines. Most people have them, and they can point to bonuses, small windfalls, dividends, and similar extras.
7. Money-management line: A line running parallel above the heart line is called a money-management line. People with this marking often handle finances for bosses or superiors—frequently as accountants or cashiers—and they usually manage their own money well, so they rarely run out.
8. Three Leopard Lines: The horizontal crease across the index finger is called a joint line. If there are three such joint lines, it is referred to as the Three Agreements line. People with this marking tend to have a steady cash flow throughout life, often linked to romantic relationships. For example, a man may marry a wealthy wife, receive financial help from a partner, or earn money in businesses focused on women's products.
