How Your Face Shapes Your Fate

Many people believe that we are all, to some degree, subject to the whims of fate, and that only a few wise individuals manage to break free of its constraints. But what exactly is this so-called “manipulation of fate,” and where does its core essence lie?

Throughout history, those who have delved into fate analysis have focused on understanding this principle: how not to be enslaved by fate but to take control of it. Many believe that spiritual practice transcends fate analysis; however, every form of practice still falls within the study of fate. Some practitioners see tangible benefits in the real world, while others find themselves in increasingly dire situations—this, too, is governed by fate. If one’s practice never touches the core of fate, it will have little effect.

Physiognomy holds that clearly defined features—when the five elements of the face are in harmony and the overall appearance is robust—indicate a favorable fate. But what makes it favorable? Fate operates on a basic dynamic of flow versus blockage, much like pathology: where there is flow, there is no pain; where there is blockage, pain arises. This principle applies to the body’s pulse and also to facial features.

Why do people with a crooked, weak nose often face difficulties throughout life? Because their hearts are not open. Information that flows freely through others’ hearts gets blocked again and again in theirs. A closed heart leads to a closed life. The area from the space between the eyebrows down to the nose governs the heart’s pathways. If this area is not well defined, even if one’s circumstances are favorable, they may still encounter marital issues, legal troubles, or losses. Especially at significant ages or turning points, nothing seems to flow smoothly. In youth, a closed heart may be dismissed as a personality trait, but as one reaches the age of responsibility, problems tend to arise one after another. By contrast, those with straighter features often find their lives becoming smoother during this time.

Furthermore, if a person has a broad space between the eyebrows in childhood but develops deep wrinkles and a sense of pressure in that area during middle age, it indicates inner turmoil. This turmoil manifests as feeling unequal to the tasks at hand, an inability to resolve issues, and persistent worries that cannot be shared. Generally, individuals with such features find their paths narrowing, making it increasingly difficult for fortune to flow smoothly. Once inner turmoil becomes a habit, even in the absence of external troubles, they may still feel repressed, developing a pathological state that reflects a lack of openness. A closed heart leads to unfulfilled aspirations, confusion, and sadness—often without realizing that their current disposition is what hinders the pursuit of their goals.

As for the eyebrows, eyes, and ears, they reflect a person’s nature. A deceitful heart may show as shifty eyes, while a rebellious spirit may appear in exposed ears. Those who are socially adept may have larger ears, while honest and sincere individuals tend to have thicker ears. A person with hidden depths may have turtle-like eyes, while a just person may have phoenix-like eyes. A courageous individual may have dragon-like eyes, while a malicious person may have sheep-like eyes.

Thus, the three areas of physiognomy are quite straightforward: where there is imbalance, there are periods of misfortune—and at different times, for different reasons. An imbalance in the upper area often relates to family or parental issues, while an imbalance in the lower area typically pertains to children. An imbalance in the central area directly reflects the individual’s character and temperament.

By now, it should be clear: a person with an open heart does not seek great wisdom but simply desires a smooth and clear life. Even if their environment is temporarily unfavorable, their fortune will gradually improve, potentially leading to wealth in old age. Conversely, a person with a closed heart, regardless of how prosperous their family or social connections may be, cannot escape the stagnation and decline of fate. Ask yourself: if your heart is not open, how can your fate be?
