Why Do You Look Rich Yet Struggle to Build Wealth?

A friend asked why some people—despite having features that, in physiognomy, are described as having “full three stops,” “rounded four stores,” and well-matched “five features”—do not become wealthy and only live without major worries.

It should be noted that physiognomy is a complex system that requires detailed, holistic observation to draw conclusions. Throughout history, many self-styled physiognomists have taken things out of context and made lifelong judgments based on limited observations, which inevitably leads to missed insights.

Many people who appear to have prosperous features may not all achieve success. Hence the saying: “Looks rich but isn’t; may prosper in old age.” This means there are still obstacles in life that have not been cleared; one must go through more experiences before their potential can unfold. Here are several often overlooked factors:

1. Even with well-matched features, if the eyebrows are short and intersect, or if there are stray brow hairs; if the Life Palace (the area between the eyebrows) is narrow and cannot accommodate two fingers; or if there are signs of late development but frequent turbulence and danger dominate—then one’s prospects must also be assessed based on changes in the Life Palace. If the Life Palace does not improve, a breakthrough is difficult to expect.

2. If there are unresolved ancestral issues, a narrow and shifty look, a disordered forehead, and sunken eye sockets, it indicates a lack of support. If the ears turn away from the face or show an unhealthy color, then unless one accumulates virtue or succeeds later in life, one may live without major worries but still fail to attain wealth or status.

3. A round face with a thick, heavy head calls for matching shoulders. If the shoulders are narrow, sloped, and thin, one may enjoy a few years of glory but lack staying power in the long run, making it difficult to maintain family prosperity.

4. If the buttocks are pointed and underdeveloped, even existing family wealth is merely the fading glow of a once-prosperous house. Not only will there be many adversities in life, but descendants may also invite trouble. Even if one amasses wealth, they may soon be dragged down or lose it because of their offspring.

5. Men with little or sparse hair on their thighs and lower legs are unlikely to enjoy robust fortune. Even if they accumulate wealth, it may instead attract misfortune or illness.

6. If the complexion is poor, the spirit scattered, and the face marked with spots or acne, such individuals—regardless of how good their features are—will struggle to seize opportunities and may even stir up trouble. Investing or starting a business will likely encounter obstacles.
