In the previous issue, we focused on "Those with extraordinary bones on the top of their heads may encounter disasters, but ultimately can turn danger into safety." This referred to individuals with distinct bone structures on their heads who, despite facing hardships, can eventually overcome them. (You can click here to read the previous article.) In this issue, we explore "Frequent encounters with misfortune are due to a dull root; frequent encounters with good fortune are due to the nourishment of the blessed hall." Both sayings evaluate health and fortune based on complexion, which I will elaborate on below.

"Frequent encounters with misfortune are due to a dull root."

The "root" refers to the mountain root, located below the Yintang (the area between the eyebrows), and together with the year and longevity zones, it is known as the palace of misfortune. The complexion of the mountain root can reflect a person's health. If it is bright and shiny, this indicates that the individual is in very good health.

A dark complexion with visible veins or a bluish tint that persists in the mountain root suggests chronic illness. If it has recently turned bluish, this points to potential health problems in the near future, possibly involving the nervous system or liver and gallbladder.

Additionally, a gray appearance indicates a sub-healthy state, often due to impaired blood and energy, leading to physical weakness. A black complexion suggests severe health issues, often indicating a critical condition. If the mountain root is red, this signifies internal heat symptoms, which may also indicate potential unexpected disasters at home, such as fires, electrical accidents, or car accidents, requiring extra caution regarding fire, electrical, and personal safety.

"Frequent encounters with good fortune are due to the nourishment of the blessed hall."

Located above and slightly to the side of the eyebrow peaks is an area known as the blessed hall, or palace of fortune. If this area is yellow and lustrous, it indicates a positive mood and favorable fortune.

A dark complexion in the blessed hall suggests that recent fortunes are not going well, and obstacles may arise. A black appearance indicates worsening conditions, leading to significant challenges with one's fortune. A pale blessed hall suggests potential family disasters, possibly involving life and death separations.

Both the mountain root and the blessed hall are assessed through complexion observations; the mountain root's complexion is more indicative of health, while the blessed hall's complexion is more related to career, wealth, and familial relationships.
