Eye Shapes Said to Signal Misfortune (Part 1)
As the saying goes, the eyes are the windows to the soul. Some believe you can read a person's character through their eyes. If personality shapes destiny, then the look of one’s eyes might offer a rough hint about whether someone’s fortunes run good or bad. Below are eye types said to signal a challenging temperament—people who may be harder to get along with and more prone to setbacks.
1. Upward Three Whites
Upward three whites refers to the iris sitting low, with the whites of the eyes visible on the left, right, and above. This is also known as "snake eyes." People with this facial feature tend to be introverted and reserved yet sharp-edged, quick-tempered, and self-focused, sometimes saying things that sting. They may show an aggressive streak and carry a strong sense of insecurity, tending to think pessimistically in tough moments. Though they might seem gentle on the surface, they can be opportunistic and cut corners for personal gain. Their careers often rise and fall, and family and social relationships may become strained.
2. Downward Three Whites
Downward three whites refers to the iris sitting high, with the whites exposed on the left, right, and below. People with this facial feature are often strong-willed, stubborn, and bold. They like to direct others, are quite principled, and can easily stand out, yet they may be self-centered and less considerate of others. They can come across as hard and unyielding. Family dynamics may be tense, and in middle age they may encounter financial losses or significant challenges.
3. Four Whites
Four whites refers to the iris being centered with white visible all around. People with four whites are said to have an even stronger and more intense personality than those with three whites. They are usually very intelligent, quick-witted, decisive, and talented—well suited for leadership. However, regardless of gender, they can be unforgiving and hold grudges, with a self-protective, zero-sum mindset. They’re difficult to get along with and are best approached with caution.
4. Triangular Eyes
Triangular eyes have a triangular look and can be grouped into two types: one with clear black and white and a commanding presence, and the other with duller black and white, often with downward, fish tail-like outer corners. People with triangular eyes are challenging to deal with: intelligent and capable but highly pragmatic and opportunistic, and often slow to forgive. They tend to judge right and wrong by their own interests, and when conflicts over gains and losses arise, they may nurse grudges and push back forcefully.
5. Wheel Eyes
Wheel eyes are characterized by small eye shapes, thin eyelids, and light brown irises with concentric, glowing circles resembling a wheel. People with this facial feature tend to be impatient, short-tempered, and impulsive, with a narrow focus. They often chase pleasure and avoid sustained effort; without adjustment, they may toil for years without notable results.
6. Fire Wheel Eyes
Fire wheel eyes resemble a fiery wheel, with a reddish hue in a relatively large, somewhat cloudy iris. People with this facial feature often have an intense, volatile temperament and may be emotionally distant from parents and siblings. They typically rely on their own efforts throughout life and may miss out on support from family and friends.
7. White Eyes
White eyes, also known as "grainy eyes," are characterized by a speckled appearance. People with this eye feature often have quirky personalities and looser connections with family and friends, making support harder to come by. They may feel lonely, lack confidence, and be indecisive. Throughout life they may face obstacles and challenges, but their generally kind nature tends to keep them away from serious trouble.
