What Dreams Foretell Unexpected Misfortune?
As the weather turns colder, any disaster would feel colder still—though of course we hope none occur. By “unexpected disaster,” we mean events that can’t be foreseen. For example, liver disease caused by long-term heavy drinking wouldn’t count. Dreams are personal and often carry messages; like a secret, they reveal themselves to those who can understand them, helping them take precautions against misfortune.
Family Matters:
Many of us don’t live in the same city as our parents, so concern for family is a core emotional anchor. If you have certain dreams, make sure to check on your loved ones, as an accident involving them would truly be an unexpected disaster. Dreams in which a family member dies suddenly; you see white cloth draped over family photos; family photos turn black and white; a family member cries over a photo; a family member cries or looks at you strangely; you grind your teeth or lose teeth; or an old house collapses—all suggest you should help the corresponding family member take steps to avoid harm. These messages come to you because you’ve sensed a warning of potential calamity.
Love Matters:
As people enter adulthood, they seek the love they want and build their own families. In this context, an unexpected disaster could involve a partner. If something goes wrong here, it can be unbearable, whether it’s a health issue or a breakup. If you have any of the following dreams, take them seriously: your house collapsing or walls being damaged; your partner bleeding from every orifice; your partner being injured in an accident; disasters occurring at your partner’s workplace or travel destination; your bed collapsing; a stove cracking or two stoves (traditionally signaling a family crisis); or your partner being naked in public.
Children Matters:
As a parent, it’s only natural to feel deeply connected to your child. Some dreams warrant special attention, such as your child encountering a disaster, your child going missing, blood on your child, injuries on your child, your child going to a train station or airport, or your child being abducted. The first four suggest potential accidents, while the last two point to serious communication problems with your child, who may be at risk of falling in with the wrong crowd or being influenced by negative individuals.
Self Matters:
Paying attention to your own dreams is a true way to look after yourself. Most dreams are reminders to self-reflect. Nightmares, for example, can signal that problems are approaching and you need to find solutions quickly. The following nightmares suggest that your physical and mental health need special attention—your well-being affects not only you but your family and possibly several families: a red sky; head injuries; bleeding from every orifice; disasters at your travel destination or involving your means of travel; elders expressing pity for you; unexplained (non-medical) injuries on your body; self-harm; or your own death with no one caring. The last two can indicate the onset of depression, when someone might feel hopeless or engage in risky behaviors as a cry for help. For your well-being—and for the families connected to you—this, too, is an unexpected disaster.
If your dreams suggest potential problems, take steps to resolve them. This is the path to a positive life, leading to happiness today and tomorrow.
