Dreams are not just reflections of our daily thoughts; they are influenced by deeper factors. There is a connection between dreams and reality. Often, what we experience in dreams is later confirmed by actual events in our lives.
The Dream of the Feathered Man Heals the King's Heart
On the thirtieth anniversary of King Zhou's reign, while napping in the divine temple, a man covered in feathers descended from a gathering of white clouds. In the dream, King Zhou spoke with this man and asked about the path to immortality. The feathered man replied, "Your Majesty, you have yet to transcend the mundane, making the quest for eternal life impossible." King Zhou knelt, earnestly pleading for guidance on overcoming his desires. The feathered man touched King Zhou's heart with his finger, causing it to split open.
King Zhou awoke from the dream, drenched in sweat, and soon developed a heart condition. He ceased eating, drinking, and enjoying life's pleasures, continuing in this manner for ten days.
One day, the feathered man appeared before him again, saying, "I wish to change your heart first." He produced a small green pouch filled with blood-replenishing pills. The feathered man massaged King Zhou's chest, and soon the king was completely healed.
King Zhou immediately wanted to store this medicine in a jade jar, secured with gold thread. He applied the medicine to his feet, enabling him to soar into the clouds and enjoy life. King Zhou continued to consume this medicine, ultimately living a long life before passing away.

Later, Zhang Huan's wife gave birth to a son named Meng. During the Jian'an period, he became the governor of Wuwei. However, he soon killed the inspector and tried to flee to Handan for refuge. As he was about to leave the city, soldiers surrounded him. Refusing to be captured, he climbed to the top of the building and set himself on fire.
Napping Under the Tree and Gaining Insight into Classical Texts
Zheng Xuan, a scholar of the Eastern Han dynasty, initially studied under the renowned scholar Ma Rong for three years but learned little. Eventually, Ma Rong sent him back.
One day, while tired from traveling, Zheng Xuan napped under a tree. He dreamed of a person who cut open his heart with a knife, saying, "You will surely become a knowledgeable person!" Upon waking, Zheng Xuan immediately returned home and soon comprehended all the classical texts.
Later, he returned to the east. Upon hearing the news, Ma Rong sighed, saying, "The poetry, books, rites, and music have all gone to the east!"
