Dreams That Predict Good Luck
According to the PLA Daily, Major Li Congna of the Lanzhou Military Region worked around the clock for three straight days to complete a programming assignment from her superiors. Exhausted, she nodded off and suddenly found inspiration for the code. "She dropped everything, grabbed a pen and paper, and wrote more than 20 pages in one go." When she finished, Li fell asleep on the floor and was later hospitalized, where she remained in a coma for three days.
People often say "You must be dreaming" or "Don't get carried away," implying that certain things are impossible in real life and can only happen in dreams. However, looking back over China’s five thousand years of culture—whether it’s the renowned Dream Interpretation by Zhou Gong or the principles of fate and astrology—we find a consistent connection between dreams and good fortune.
Clearly, dreams are compelling. A friend asked Dr. Zheng: What kinds of dreams are considered good? How can good dreams come true? Why do nightmares sometimes lead to good fortune? Today, Dr. Zheng shares 30 dream interpretations said to symbolize good luck, for your reference:

- Dreaming of being burned suggests work will go your way.
- Dreaming you’re a child again with your parents signals that good things are about to happen.

Dr. Zheng Weijian's Commentary:
- In the 1980s, Dr. Zheng earned his doctorate at Renmin University of China, focusing on human irrationality. He believes the meanings, inspirations, intuitions, and insights revealed in dreams are closely tied to good fortune.
- Dreams with a cheerful, calm atmosphere are generally auspicious; by contrast, many dreams can portend misfortune. Even the same dream can differ greatly depending on the dreamer’s time, place, and circumstances.
- Many dreams reflect a person’s subconscious and hint at the future. If you can grasp their meaning and respond appropriately, good fortune will continue.
- Remember Dr. Zheng’s advice: Don’t casually share good dreams with others; act in real life on things that seem easy to accomplish in dreams; and remember the places and numbers that appear in your dreams.
- If you have a bad dream, Dr. Zheng recommends this remedy: first thing in the morning, use your right hand to draw clockwise circles with your finger on the west wall of the room where you slept. While drawing, silently repeat: "A dream of misfortune, drawn on the west wall; as the sun rises, it turns into good fortune."
