Foretold to Die in a Plane Crash: No Escape Even Behind Closed Doors

In Western countries, fortune tellers hold a significant status, using the constellations to predict futures and determine fates. In 1989, a man named Max from Belgium, disheartened by his romantic life, sought the guidance of an astrologer to learn about his love prospects. He wanted to discover when he would meet his true love. To his surprise, after the reading, the astrologer regretfully informed him that he would not find true love in this lifetime. Hearing this, Max felt both angry and depressed. Before he could ask for further explanation, the astrologer continued, warning him that he would soon suffer an accident and perish in a plane crash.

Max was perplexed by the astrologer's prediction since he had no plans for long-distance travel and no intention of flying. The idea of dying in a plane crash seemed laughable. However, due to the astrologer's serious tone, Max found himself somewhat convinced. After recently experiencing a breakup and feeling down, he decided to take a leave of absence and stay home to recuperate. He isolated himself, even having friends deliver meals to his house, believing that this would surely prevent him from dying in a plane crash.

Astonishingly, one day while watching television at home, he suddenly heard a deafening noise. Before he could investigate, a plane crashed directly into his house, killing Max instantly.

This truly was a case of "sitting at home while disaster strikes from the sky." It was more dramatic than a movie script. Max's parents could not accept that their son had "died in a plane crash." They demanded an explanation from the Belgian authorities, who confirmed that the aircraft was not Belgian but belonged to the Soviet Union.

Although Max hadn't boarded a plane, he indeed perished in an aviation disaster. The aircraft wasn't a regular commercial flight but a Soviet MiG-23 fighter jet that had ventured into Europe. Once detected by NATO radar, two fighter jets were dispatched to intercept it, with plans to shoot it down. However, with the plane running low on fuel, it was expected to crash into the sea. Unexpectedly, before reaching the ocean, the plane crashed into Max's house. This incident stirred public interest, leading many to believe once again in the power of fortune tellers. Some even deemed the astrologer a prophet who had accurately predicted Max's fate. As a result, many people began paying large sums to have their fortunes read by this astrologer.

Throughout history, numerous individuals have sought fortune-telling to avert misfortunes, while only a few use it to seek opportunities. People are often curious about their futures, wanting to know if favorable circumstances lie ahead and when they might encounter a good partner. This curiosity has led to the emergence of fortune tellers, who have grown more mysterious with their claims of foreseeing the future. Some believe in the predetermined paths of fate, while others reject the concept entirely. Voltaire once said, "What is called fate is merely a test, a punishment, a compensation."

If accidents are inevitable, the best we can do is calmly accept our fate when they occur and wait for the best arrangements from above.
