Does Sharing Your Ba Zi Information Make You Vulnerable to Manipulation?

Friends often ask me: Is it risky to share my birth date and time, or BaZi? Is there a danger when entering my BaZi on certain free fortune-telling websites? If someone with bad intentions gains access to my BaZi chart, could they somehow steal my good fortune? These are some of the questions I will address today.
What is BaZi?
To analyze a person's destiny, a BaZi chart must first be created. This can be done using BaZi calculation software. The chart is constructed based on a person's birth year, month, day, and time using the Heavenly Stems and Earthly Branches. Each component is represented by two characters, with the first being the "Heavenly Stem" and the second the "Earthly Branch" (some methods show the Heavenly Stems above and the Earthly Branches below). These combinations form a total of eight characters, resembling four pillars, hence the term "Four Pillar Prediction." In popular culture, this chart is often referred to as "BaZi," which is synonymous with fortune-telling.
BaZi fortune-telling primarily involves logical analysis based on the relationships between these pillars and between major periods and yearly cycles. It is not inherently mystical; rather, it is a traditional body of knowledge passed down through generations. People use BaZi predictions to align with the flow of life, providing a basis for life planning. The rumors circulating in society or online about BaZi exposure leading to misfortune are as baseless as the idea that "fortune-tellers who reveal heavenly secrets will face retribution." Such beliefs are purely superstitious nonsense.
The BaZi refers to the year, month, day, and time of a person's birth. It does not equate to the individual but reflects life patterns. Many people share the exact same birth date and time. Every day, countless individuals seek out BaZi readings to understand their lives better and plan for their future. With guidance from experts, many have turned their fortunes around, achieving wealth and success through detailed planning at opportune times.
However, some individuals spread conspiracy theories, making unfounded accusations that hinder the normal growth of the fortune-telling industry. It's also possible that certain forums or message boards amplify these notions to attract clicks, resulting in misinformation online.
While we cannot dismiss the existence of mysterious forces, using BaZi to harm others or cast spells requires specific motives and conditions; it cannot be done simply with a birth date and time. Besides BaZi, one would also need detailed personal items, such as fingernails, hair, saliva, sweat, blood, talismans, clothing, and location. Additionally, executing such actions requires a certain "skill" level that cannot be effectively achieved online.
I would like to remind everyone to be cautious while traveling: avoid flaunting wealth, try not to offend others, don’t spit, and don’t let strangers observe your palms. Otherwise, they might acquire your sweat or saliva and potentially cast a spell even without your BaZi. Additionally, sharing personal birth information and related privacy online, such as a woman's age, marital status, hobbies, phone number, etc., can be exploited by those with ill intentions, but this issue is unrelated to BaZi itself.
