Have you ever had a mentor in your career?

My exceptional agent has been the most influential person in my life. During a period when I felt directionless and unsure about my future, her support was invaluable. Although I didn't generate much profit for her, we persevered together because of a shared commitment to integrity and the determination to prove skeptics wrong. The more challenges I faced, the stronger I wanted to become. I was driven to live a beautiful life despite the hurdles.

Rewinding to twelve years ago, after my two-year contract with my previous agency concluded, I began searching for a new agent. The owner of my previous company treated me well—he signed me, quickly secured a new show for me, and paired me with the famous Xu Nailin. Such treatment would certainly make many newcomers envious. Despite appreciating his support, I chose not to renew my contract because, as an astrology expert, I wanted to focus on my true passion. I realized that being seen as an artist wouldn't allow me to perform my best and would inevitably make me a "non-profitable employee," a burden I couldn't carry, nor did I want to disappoint anyone.

After deciding not to renew the contract, I engaged in discussions with several agents, fully aware of the uphill battle it would be. I needed someone who recognized, understood, and believed in me—someone who saw beyond the typical image of a fortune teller and understood my reluctance to rely on fortune-telling products for profit. Instead, I was determined to pursue a genuine path, knowing it would be a long journey without guarantees and that I might initially be perceived as a "non-profitable artist." In the entertainment industry, this seemed nearly impossible.

However, I met my current agent, and the first thing she asked was, "How do you want to proceed?"

I was thrilled; finally, someone was willing to listen to me! At the time, although I was just one of the many fortune tellers on TV, I believed I was different. I had grand ambitions and wanted to preserve my reputation and become a respected master. In hindsight, I realize I was audacious to say that, and it makes me a bit embarrassed. Honestly, anyone I shared this with back then would likely think, "She's difficult and has unrealistic ambitions," and might even ridicule me more.

But she listened to my aspirations without changing her expression or showing disbelief. She took what I said seriously, and that alone captivated me. Her respect and validation of my lofty ambitions highlighted her exceptional character. I thought to myself, "She's the one; I want her to manage me." With her, I believed I would have the opportunity to achieve my goals.

At our second meeting, she gave me a piece of paper containing a "twenty-year plan" that outlined how I could achieve my goals within two decades. This plan resonated with me deeply. She didn't mock me; she understood what I wanted, and nobody prompted her to do this. Yet, she addressed my concerns thoughtfully and articulated her expectations for me before we even signed a contract. This demonstrated immense recognition and commitment.

I broke down and cried on the spot, unable to hold back years of pent-up emotions. I felt as if I had found a treasure; how could she understand me so well? It was as if she was my kindred spirit. She truly comprehended that achieving this goal would take twenty years. Her foresight and understanding made me completely devoted to her. Without her, I wouldn't be where I am today. Every time I reflect on this period, I feel incredibly grateful, believing she is a heaven-sent messenger for me. I consider myself the luckiest person.

My exceptional agent is a Libra. What other zodiac signs are particularly selfless in the workplace, exhibiting great generosity, and are willing to mentor juniors and assist colleagues to the best of their abilities? Check out the Sun and Mercury signs.

Third Place: Taurus

They openly share with their subordinates, eager for you to succeed quickly.

Taurus individuals are open under certain conditions; this usually occurs when they have a vested interest or when you are directly under their supervision. Being secretive with these individuals would be counterproductive for them, so they hope you can swiftly become capable and assist them.

Second Place: Libra

They are willing to teach if you dare to ask, selflessly sharing without fear of being surpassed.

For Libras, unity is strength, and teaching you doesn't diminish their own knowledge or achievements. Perhaps one day, you will express your gratitude or return the favor. So as long as friends or close colleagues are willing to seek guidance, they are eager to teach and help as much as possible.

First Place: Capricorn

They have attained success through diligence and are eager to share their experiences; if you want to learn, they will teach you until you master it.

Most Capricorn individuals have achieved success through hard work. If their juniors are willing to work diligently as they did, Capricorns are more than willing to lend a helping hand. They are also deeply invested in ensuring that you learn effectively, constantly verifying that they've truly imparted their knowledge.
